Job Summary The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides direct, hands-on care to patients in their homes, assisting with daily living activities and supporting comfort and dignity. In hospice care, the CNA plays a key role in providing compassionate end-of-life care and emotional support to patients and families.
Key Responsibilities Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting Help with mobility, transfers, and ambulation Provide basic personal care and hygiene support Monitor and report changes in patient condition to the nurse Assist with feeding and ensure proper nutrition and hydration Provide companionship and emotional support to patients and families Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment Follow care plans as directed by the RN or supervising clinician Document care provided according to agency policy Support hospice patients with comfort-focused care and dignity
Qualifications Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification (state-specific) High school diploma or equivalent preferred Experience in home health or hospice preferred Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation CPR certification preferred (or required depending on employer)

Work Environment Patient homes and community settings Travel required within service area Flexible schedule, including possible weekends and evenings
