Heart disease is the number one killer of women. The staff at Smoky Mountain Hospice – Knoxville has joined in the effort to promote eating healthy and exercising as one of the many ways to live a good life.

On Feb. 1, 2013, staff members Denise Walker, Angela Chandler (RN), Sandra (Volunteer), Pearl Marion (RN) and Cynthia J. Finch (LMSW/Office Manager) wore red in support of the educational awareness campaign about heart disease. It is noted in the research that many hospice patients have some form of heart disease. Through the love and care of hospice staff many individuals can remain in their homes when they have end-stage heart disease. Smoky Mountain has been serving the community for more than 30 years and is committed to providing loving, quality care to patients and their families as they go through their end of life journey.
