Sergeant Eurie Louis Elliott, Jr. – (Greeneville Hospice Patient)
Smoky Mountain Home Health and Hospice staff members visited Eurie Elliott and presented him with a pin and certificate in honor of his service to our country.
Born Nov. 19, 1922, Sergeant Elliott served for three years in the Army during WWII. Some highlights of his service included fighting in the “Battle of the Bulge” and in Normandy when he almost drowned getting off the boat while trying to reach the shore.
On July 29, 1944, in France, the jeep Sergeant Elliot was riding in hit a mine. Elliott was the only survivor. He was recently inducted into the Purple Heart Hall of Honor.
Mr. Elliott lives with his wife Sharon in Greeneville, TN. He has two daughters and two step daughters.
